Choose Kind Library - A special selection of books in our library that encourage a deeper understanding of and compassion for our differences in order to foster a community of acceptance, empathy, and inclusion.
Clothes Closet – RISD Council of PTAs clothing donation program.
Field Day – Students have a BLAST at this fun event in May that has MANY volunteer opportunities.
5th grade Sky Ranch trip – Each fall 5th graders venture to Sky Ranch for an overnight outdoor education field trip.
Hoops in the Highlands – A 3 on 3 basketball tournament to raise money for the PTA's of Lake Highlands Junior High, Lake Highlands Elementary, Northlake, Wallace, and White Rock Elementary schools.
Lone Star Challenge - An academic competition for students in fourth, fifth, and sixth grades based on a given theme.
Xplore – RISD after school program on the LHE campus.
Pay Pams – Online service that allows parents to pay for cafeteria accounts and check up on what their kids are buying in the cafeteria.
PTA – Parent Teacher Association.
Red Ribbon Week - An alcohol, tobacco and other drug and violence prevention awareness campaign observed annually in October in the United States.
REACH – RISD gifted and talented program. Students in grades 1-3 participate in REACH classes at LHE. Students in grades 4-6 spend one day a week at Skyview receiving REACH instruction.
Reflections – PTA arts program. Reflections activities typically start in September, and focus on an annual theme.
Room Parent – A parent for each class to help coordinate classroom volunteers and volunteers needed for PTA events.
