At our school, we use the PAWS Pack program to encourage positive behavior and build a strong sense of community among students. Each child is assigned to one of four PAWS Packs, named after big cats: Panther, Leopard, Tiger, or Puma.
The program focuses on three core values:
-
Being Safe
-
Being Respectful
-
Being Responsible
Students earn points for demonstrating these positive behaviors throughout the school day—in the classroom, on the playground, in the cafeteria, and beyond. Points contribute not only to their personal growth but also to their Pack’s overall score.
The PAWS Pack system fosters teamwork, friendly competition, and school spirit. It helps students understand the importance of making good choices while feeling proud of their contributions to their Pack. Periodically, Packs may be recognized or rewarded based on their performance, adding a fun and motivating element to the program.
Wildcats of the week exemplify Safety, Respect & Responsibility.
They are chosen because they have shown personal growth in one or more of these areas.
LHE administration recognizes this achievement with a certificate to take home, and a picture in the announcements, bulletin board, and Paw Print.
Wildcats of the week also get to pick a prize from the Wildcat of the Week prize cart to enjoy.
