Do you want to get involved? Volunteer or donate to the Lake Highlands Area Moms Against Racism (LHAMAR)!  https://www.lhamar.org

Lake Highlands Area Moms and More Against Racism is a non-profit organization based in the Lake Highlands neighborhood of Dallas. They are made up of moms, dads, teachers, grandparents, neighbors, community leaders, anyone committed to listening, learning, growing, and taking action together in LOVE for the strength and health of our diverse community here in Lake Highlands and beyond.

Our own LHE librarian Gabby Brown read this great book with children celebrating diversity and acknowledging the importance of talking with children about race as an important part of someone's story...just 1 part. Great lessons for ALL of us in NOT assuming we know someone's story BEFORE we know them. For approaching one another with a sense of humanity and wonder as we see "beneath" skin color.
