Choose Kind Library

"Courage.  Kindness.  Friendship.  Character.  These are the qualities that define us as human beings and propel us, on occasion, to greatness."
- R.J. Palacio

The purpose of the Choose Kind Library at LHE is to utilize literature to encourage a deeper understanding of and compassion for our differences in order to foster a community of acceptance, empathy, and inclusion.  This will, in turn, allow us to celebrate each of our individual gifts and contributions to that community.  Inspired by R.J. Palacio's novel Wonder, we have worked to stock a special section of our library with titles that fit this criteria, spanning pre-K through 8th grade reading levels.  We envision a constantly growing list of titles as children bring ideas and as teachers, staff and parents encounter appropriate books as well.  This endeavor fully embraces and supports our school policy on Anti-Bullying initiatives.
There is additional programming and plans to recognize LHE Wildcats who make choices that reflect kindness as identified by their peers, teachers and other members of the LHE community.

We would greatly appreciate your support as we fundraise to bring more titles to our library.  If you have any questions or have a title to recommend, contact the LHE Librarian.
